I look for the moments you're not even aware are happening: the small glances stolen between you and your spouse, the focus your child has while he runs his favorite train around the edge of the couch, those are the ones you put in an album. Those are the moments that hold feeling.
What a family session with me looks like
As a busy mom and full-time teacher, I understand the "mental load" that comes with coordinating family photos. That's why I prioritize helping you plan and prepare for your session, choose your favorite images, and actually get them off your computer and into the 4 walls you call home.

What to expect when booking a family session

Once you've locked in your session, we will schedule a design consult over the phone or zoom. We'll nail down a location, date, and time, and chat about styling options along with the ways you want to enjoy your memories after!
My experience serves you before, during, & after your session ends. During your reveal session, you'll view your images for the first time! Together, we'll choose your favorites & how you want to preserve them after.
Be ready to laugh & enjoy your session as we get the raw, unfiltered moments of your family's season right now. Whether we're in your home or out in an open field, I lead with guidance & direction, capturing moments as they naturally unfold.

EACH SESSION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:
- Pre and post session planning
- Outfit and location guidance
- In-home & outdoor locations & outfit change
- $150 session fee
- 6, 8x10 matted favorites, one 11x14 framed image, or $450 credit towards artwork upgrades.
- An awesome photographer that will be your hype girl every step of the way.

This is one of the number one questions that arise when families schedule their session with me. As a mother of a very rambunctious toddler, I totally get how stressful it can be! In my experence, the photos where your kids aren't "cooperating" are always the ones that get put in an album or hung on the wall. Them, exactly as they are in this stage of life, is what you'll want to remember twenty years from now. But don't worry, we'll get the Christmas card photo, too ;)
What if my kids don't cooperate?
Part of my full-service experience includes a design consultation where we review outfit and styling ideas! My clients tend to choose outfits that are coordinating, but not matched from head to toe. If there is a certain color you favor, I can provide 2 complimentary tones for you to keep in mind when coordinating outfits. Remember, comfort is key and will be reflected in your final photos.
But, what should we wear?
I am no stranger to the "life happens" game that gets played (especially every fall when school starts back!) I understand that emergencies or sickness may come up. I factor in a one-time rescheduling opportunity free of charge. Should you need to reschedule after that, there will be a $100 rescheduling fee charged and paid prior to your new session date.
What if we need to reschedule?
Late summer and early fall book out very quickly, so I reccomend booking at least 4-6 weeks out to secure your spot! This is a great time frame because we can get your session completed and usually have your heirloom artwork ordered and delivered well before the holidays start.
How far in advance should I book my family session?
Lifestyle favors a much more relaxed atmosphere with less photographer interferance. Think, movement, laughter, and authentic moments versus structured and stiff poses. I follow the 80/20 rule: 20% of my photos start out with a loose pose. 80% are you and your tribe interacting and living within the moment with the help of my gentle guidance and direction.
